Temple Pershing Mining Company Reach Out To Unite

Temple Pershing Mining Company (“TPMC”) has contacted Unite, the Union representing the interests of employees at Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery, and confirms the interest of its partners to engage with Administrators in an urgent attempt to save jobs by acquiring the collapsed business.

The prospective purchaser, a Middle Eastern dynasty, is strategically positioned in the oil and gas sector, and brings its experience of overseeing the output of billions of barrels of oil. It has been agreed that a rescue and purchase structure will include TPMC. The Joint Venture is committed to the continued operation of the Lindsey site and preserving the livelihoods of its workforce. With effective stewardship, the refinery represents a strategic asset and an opportunity to support the local community, by maintaining jobs, ensuring continuity in operations, and contributing to the region’s stability and growth.

Simon Robinson and Kenneth Roberts, Directors of TPMC said “Prax Lindsey is a lifeblood employer in Lincolnshire. We hope that by engaging talks with all Parties that we can proceed to acquire the site with our partners and prevent it from being the latest in an ever growing number of large scale corporations going to wall in the UK”.

About Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery (the “Refinery”)

On 30 June 2025, a winding-up order was issued against Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery Limited, along with its associated storage and terminal companies.

The Official Receiver, Gareth Jonathan Allen, was appointed as Liquidator, with FTI Consulting LLP brought in as Special Managers to assist.

Despite efforts to find a buyer, no credible acquisition emerged, and the refinery began winding down operations in August 2025.

Lindsey supplied 10% of the UK’s domestically produced fuel, making its closure a major blow to national energy resilience.
